  • Fiction Literature in the form of prose, especially novels that describe imaginary events and people

  • Dialogue Two or more people engaging in a conversation
  • Imagery A figurative language to represent objects, actions, ideas in such a way that it appeals to our physical sense. “It is dark and dim in the forest”.
  • Point-of-view The angle of considering things which shows us the opinion/feelings of the individuals in a situation
  • First person “I”, “we”
  • Second person “you”
  • Third person omniscient “he, she, it, they” Sv: /allvetande berättaren/
  • Symbolism Generally an object representing another to give an entirely different meaning /a dove-peace/, /a red rose-romance/
  • Hyperbole A figure of speech that involves an exaggeration.
  • Metaphor A figure of speech. Implicit, implies, a hidden comparison between two things that does not relate to each other.
  • Simile A figure of speech Makes a comparison between two different things. Has the words as and like in it.
  • Irony Words are used in such a way that their intended meaning is different from the actual meaning of the words.
  • Climax A point in the narrative at which a conflict/tension reaches its highest point
