• 1) once when i was a young boy
• there was one family between us and the ticket counter .
• thins family made a big impression on me
• there were eight children ,
• their clothes were not expensive , but they were clean
• the younger kids were talking happily about the clowns
• is would be the highlight of their young lives .
• the wife was holding her husband hand
• looking up at him and he was smiling proudly at his wife
• I’d like eight children’s tickets and two adult tickets
• when the man heard the price his lower lip began to tremble .
• the ticket lady repeated the price
• it was obvious that man didn’t have enough money
• he put his hand inte his pocket
• pulled out a $20 bill and dropped the bill on the ground
• my father reached down slowly and picked up the bill
• he wasn’t begging for help but he certainly appreciated it in a desperate situation
• we didn’t go to the circus that night but neither of us were disappointed .
